Brief update ...

I'm going to be doing more writing in my LJ than on Myspace ... that place is getting too "busy." Today, just a few things I want to chronicle, so I can look back and remember what happened ... when.

First, Steven is taking his road test today ... wish me (and him!) LUCK!! He's angsting over it because it's a little rainy today and the Trans Am isn't exactly the best on slick roads. He's driven the damn thing in the snow, though, so I don't think he'll have any trouble. He's just too much like his sister, in that he needs to feel COMPLETELY in control for things to be "right."

Now we have TWO hen turkeys wandering the front yard on a daily basis. I love living here ... the wildlife is simply amazing, at times. Other times, it's a royal pain in the butt (especially the damn skunks and 'possums!). Overall, though, I can't envision living elsewhere. Especially not when I can walk outside for a late-night smoke and see a gorgeous crescent moon and all the stars sparkling so brightly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think those things are so vivid, nor so noticeable, in the cities.

Last, but CERTAINLY not least, Steven had his first job interview this past week! It looks VERY likely that he will be hired in the near future. Our current 'resident alien' kid works in the same place and said that, from what Steven told him, and what his boss told him, Steven WILL be hired. That's both a relief and a new concern ... then again, I'm a "mom." Will I EVER quit worrying? Highly unlikely. At least the kid will have the money for the car parts he wants so badly now. For every down, I guess there IS a corresponding UP, huh?
